Dandelion Dreams — by ALL•PORT
Dandelion Dreams is a lush celebration of Australian flora, where proteas, banksias, eucalyptus and dandelions gather in a composition that feels at once botanical and deeply symbolic. Against an inky blue background, the flowers appear illuminated from within, their soft pinks, burnished reds and ochres arranged with a symmetry that gives the work the quality of a contemporary tapestry. Lara Allport often hides meaning and iconography within her paintings, allowing the decorative surface to operate as something more intimate and psychological; here, the mirrored forms suggest a kind of map of the female aura, with petals opening, seed heads dispersing and leaves reaching outward in an expression of resilience, transformation and quiet feminine strength.
